Moments in Time Photography Studio has been providing portrait and photography services in Halifax since 2005. They draw on years of experience to ensure sessions run smoothly and create a more comfortable experience in front of the camera.
Planning graduation photos is easier with this provider. They keep gowns, caps, and hoods for schools like SMU and NSCC right at the studio.
And for family shoots, I like that they welcome pets and larger groups, which gives you more flexibility when planning photos.
The biggest downside is their refund policy. Once your custom session is booked, the fees aren’t refundable.

Applehead Studio Photography focuses on relaxed, natural photography, capturing real smiles and genuine moments instead of relying on stiff or uncomfortable poses.
Most people think of them as wedding photographers, but they also photograph families, professionals, and graduates.
Their graduation packages, in particular, are convenient, as you usually receive your edited photos within 7 days.
Another thing I like is that you can pick from different locations. You might use their downtown studio, or if you prefer, choose an outdoor spot somewhere in Halifax.
There are a couple of things to keep in mind, though. Your online proof gallery is only available for 14 days, and reactivating it costs extra. Also, if you want major edits beyond the usual touch-ups, there will be an extra charge.

Fun and High-Quality Grad Portrait Experience
I can’t recommend this studio enough. I went with five friends, and we booked individual slots for our grad portraits as well as a group slot. Liam was incredible – super patient, very kind and really helpful. The space is amazing, and he has a Photo Booth in there as well! F Studio feels a little different from a typical photography studio because it was built with creative projects in mind.
The space comes with extras like a projector, sound system, wireless internet, and smart lighting. These features help make long shoots more comfortable.
I love that the studio is also close to several restaurants, so grabbing food during a full-day project is easy. Free parking is another nice bonus since you won’t have to spend time searching for a spot downtown.
That said, this space can also be tricky to find the first time because the entrance isn’t obvious from outside the building.
It’s also designed mainly for photography and video production rather than casual events. Even so, it’s a solid choice for commercial shoots and larger creative projects.

Atlas Studios Halifax is a great option if you’re looking for a professional space without the cost of running your own studio. I like that their membership plans give photographers access to equipment and shooting space at a much lower cost.
The studio has backdrops, reflector disks, and lighting gear, so you have a solid setup ready to go. They also offer useful extras like a makeup vanity, a private changing room, and a small seating area for clients.
Many local creatives and headshot photographers use the space to build their portfolios and meet with clients.
However, the studio isn’t very large, so bigger commercial productions may feel cramped.

Bluenose Studio makes it easier to plan a photo session by offering a free consultation before any photos are taken. You can connect with the team by phone, video call, or in person, depending on what works best for you.
I like that their packages include retouching for lighting fixes and minor blemishes, which helps create polished final images.
On top of that, they’re flexible with locations and can shoot at their studio or around the Halifax area. They’ll even reschedule outdoor sessions at no extra cost if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
However, they don’t provide unedited raw files. Also, if you need them to travel outside the municipality, there’s an extra fee.
