As much as I enjoy the praise, this feat has also become somewhat of a double-edged sword. Since then, my coworkers have always appointed me to plan parties and other events.
It’s gotten so bad that even our HR department enlisted my help in finding a good team-building idea. But despite the stress, I’m not someone who backs down from a challenge.
After tons of research and asking around, I’m confident I’ve found the best team-building services in Halifax.

HaliMac Entertainment is basically the gold standard for team-building activities here in Halifax. I can guarantee almost every company has tried one of their services, whether it’s axe-throwing, archery, the splatter room, or all three in one night.
It certainly helps that they have a mobile option for their activities. One of their trucks will head to your office to give your team the privacy to bond and save everyone the time and effort of traveling far.
There’s no need to worry if you’ve never tried any of these activities before. They always have a friendly member on site to show you the ropes and ensure safety.
Plus, these experts can craft challenges, prepare extra obstacles, or set up a tournament so your team can go all out with strategizing.
That said, this company isn’t for organizations with a tight budget; Their rates tend to be expensive than others.

Think Inside the Box has a unique setup — your team won’t have to go far because the challenge comes to you. It’s a unique puzzle game that can be brought and played essentially anywhere.
As of now, there are 2 boxes to choose from, each presenting different challenges. But from what I heard, they’re currently developing more options for the future.
You can either rent just one box so everyone can all work together, or get multiple boxes to create a fun contest amongst colleagues. There’s going to be a representative from the company to help you set up and give hints every now and then.
A fair warning, though: you should only reserve a box once your team’s schedule is set. If you end up canceling, you’ll still have to pay 50% of the box’s total charge.

Slixer Events is the perfect choice for teams full of extroverts and office comedians. They offer immersive team-building activities that are ideal for improv and off-the-cuff humor.
Their most popular offerings typically involve actors who create scenarios that your team is tasked to navigate. Depending on how you want it, these sessions can either be done in person or virtually. They’ll help you set up all the tech stuff for the latter.
Either way, it’s always very engaging since their performers make sure to interact with everyone. These skits are quite creative, usually involving spies, pirates, or distant lands.
A word of advice, though: avoid their murder mystery package. It tends to be the weakest from their lineup, with several complaints about a disappointing plot and confusing mechanics.

Activate Halifax will definitely have you feeling like you stepped into the future. Each one of their game rooms is decked out with cool interactive technology, from the walls to the floor.
They have different activities to choose from, such as dodging lasers or climbing walls, and it’ll be up to what your team is looking for. No need to sweat if you’re not super active; You can adjust the difficulty of any game accordingly.
It may sound like it’s mostly going to be physical, but all of their rooms actually feature a puzzle-solving element. Your team has no choice but to work together to advance.
I especially love that there’s a digital photobooth at the end of every session for souvenirs.
Sadly, their customer service tends to be hit-or-miss. Some days, the staff are super friendly, but on others, they can be quite the mood-killer.

You and your colleagues can do boat building and scavenger hunts in person, virtual trivia nights like ‘friendly feud’ and ‘jeoparty’, or even self-hosted escape rooms and murder mysteries.
Throughout it all, you’ll be assisted by their stellar staff, who are known for going above and beyond. They always reply fast, arrive early, and host each activity professionally. I especially like that they regularly do check-ins to ensure that everything is going well.
The only thing they need to improve on is their time management. Previous customers have said that the company tends to rush some activities towards the end of the session.
