Touch of Gold gives you direct access to authorized Rolex-trained watchmakers right here in the city. They handle complete movement overhauls alongside strict water resistance testing for high-end pieces.
A friend of mine had a vintage piece restored here, and the results looked absolutely flawless.
They back all maintenance work with a solid two-year guarantee. Your case and bracelet are also refinished carefully to restore their original lustre.
Their official workshop procedures help your watch meet its original factory specifications. That’s incredibly reassuring if you own a valuable Rolex.
The only major downside is that they’re closed on Sundays and Mondays, which definitely limits your weekend availability if you work standard hours.

Definitely recommend
I recently had my watch serviced at Touch of Gold and had a 5/5 experience. The staff were professional, knowledgeable, and took great care of my watch. Excellent customer service and attention to detail. They took the time to show me around and answer all questions I had. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing jewelry, watches, service or sales!

Highly recommend
White glove treatment when bringing my watch for servicing. Communication was great throughout. I little hiccup around pickup, but they more than made up for it with a small gift. Would highly recommend Touch of Gold.

2. Peoples Jewellers

Peoples Jewellers is a trusted chain backed by a century of retail history in Canada. They handle routine maintenance alongside off-site restoration work for more severely damaged pieces.
They handle a wide range of accessories for everyday wearers. That makes them one of the most accessible locations in the city for standard watch repair.
Their in-store drop-offs at the mall make getting a basic watch repair in Halifax convenient. You can easily book a virtual consultation with a specialist before you even visit.
I like that you can get your treasured items inspected and cleaned while you shop nearby, which saves a separate trip entirely.
If you’re looking to purchase a new piece instead, browsing jewellers in Halifax gives you a great starting point.
The main drawback is their noticeably shorter Sunday hours. You’ll need to plan your weekend mall visits around that tighter afternoon window.
3. Halifax Watch Co.

Website: https://halifaxwatch.com/
Address: Halifax Shopping Centre, 7001 Mumford Rd, NS B3L 2H8
Contact: 902-455-2876
Hours: Monday–Saturday: 9:30 AM–9:00 PM, Sunday: 12:00 PM–5:00 PM
Halifax Watch Co. is a very strong pick for restoring antique and mechanical timepieces. Their master technicians handle full movement overhauls and delicate vintage servicing.
I brought in an old pocket watch last month, and their dedicated team restored it beautifully. That kind of specialized antique work is notoriously hard to find these days.
Their trained horologists also handle complex mechanical adjustments like mainspring replacements.
Their servicing range runs broadly from mainstream designer models to high-end Swiss brands.
Plus, I love that they give preliminary cost estimates before starting any final work, so you never face unexpected fees at pickup.
The only real negative is their location inside a major, bustling mall. It gets incredibly busy at peak weekend shopping hours, which can make a quick drop-off frustrating.

Extremely helpful
I highly recommend Halifax watch co. I went in with a watch that another shop had said needed to be sent off for repairs, however the technician I dealt with at HWC, identified the problem, fixed it, and replaced the battery within 7 minutes. Extremely helpful, 10/10 customer service, knowledge and affordability. 100% will be the ONLY place I take my watches to in future.

Address: 6281 Quinpool Rd, NS B3L 1A4
Contact: 902-423-5621
Hours: Monday–Friday: 10:00 AM–4:00 PM, Saturday–Sunday: Closed
Vina’s Jewellers repairs both delicate wristwear and large household clocks. Finding that kind of dual expertise under one roof is rare in the city.
Their central shop combines quick turnaround times with traditional, old-school craftsmanship. They easily handle everything, including cracked crystal replacements and complex grandfather clocks.
Common watch repairs like simple link sizing and strap replacements are very easy to arrange. You can drop off a watch for a quick battery change without any real hassle.
Their experienced professionals handle delicate mechanical adjustments safely and efficiently. They also adjust the timing on antique pendulum clocks to keep them ticking perfectly.
Despite their fantastic craftsmanship, their operating hours are quite short. They close at 4:00 PM on weekdays, which makes pickup hard if you work a standard office schedule.

Good work
A no nonsense shop. I went in to get my watch face replaced and he told me it wasn’t that bad and I shouldn’t spend any money on it! Right there I was certain this guy was honest. I was in today with my father and he did a battery change and resized the watch band for $20 plus tax. It’s not a fancy frilly place, is where you can go to get good work done at a reasonable price.

Very reasonable rates
I’ve been here a few times for basic watch adjustments and battery changes. I’ve been able to wait while the work is done each time. Rates are VERY reasonable. So far, nothing worth complaining about. I hope Vina’s remains part of the Quinpool shopscape for many more years.

5. Doctor Clock

Website: https://www.doctorclock.com/
Address: 5656 Bilby Street, NS B3K 1V6
Contact: 902-422-1307
Hours: Monday–Friday: 8:30 AM–3:00 PM, Saturday–Sunday: Closed
Doctor Clock has proudly served the local community since 1960. Their tight-knit staff brings over sixty years of combined horological experience to the bench.
They offer complete maintenance for all makes and models, including industrial clocks that require specialized tools.
Their trained technicians examine each item individually before looking for deep internal problems. Then, they use only original parts for in-house fixes, keeping repairs true to the watch’s original design.
Every finished repair meets strict industry standards before it ever leaves the shop.
And I love that you get incredibly clear cost estimates before any actual work begins on the piece.
One noticeable downside is their very early closing time during the week. Shutting at 3:00 PM on weekdays makes a late-afternoon pickup hard for busy professionals.

Excellent prices
Changed 2 of my Timex watch batteries for $20 with no issue.
Edit with an update: they also have a relatively broad price range of watch bands, if you need to replace a watch band. Still excellent prices and fast service.

Thrilled
I was told that Doctor Clock might be able to pull off a miracle. I decided to take a chance. I showed the watch to Sam and after a few minutes, he though it might be possible to get it going. I left the watch and he called two days later and had the watch keeping perfect time. The repair and 2 batteries came to less than $70. I was thrilled it was working and Sam had it set properly.
