There I was, standing in my doorway, suitcase in hand, when the guilt hit me. My dog was staring up at me with those big, heart-melting eyes, clearly unimpressed that I was about to leave her behind.
I had everything planned from the flights to the itinerary but finding someone to watch my dog was another story. Friends were busy, family was out of town, and the thought of leaving her with just anyone didn’t sit right with me.
So, I did some serious research, talked to fellow fur parents, and even grilled a few potential options. Finally, I came up with a list of the best pet sitters in Halifax.
If you’re in the same boat, stressing about who to trust with your pet, don’t worry. These are the ones who’ll treat your pet like their own.
How much does pet sitting cost in Halifax?
Pet sitting in Halifax costs anywhere from $25 to $75 per day, depending on the level of care and services you’re looking for.
Basic visits, like feeding and short walks, typically fall on the lower end, while overnight stays, extended hours, or specialized services can push costs higher.

I highly recommend them
“We couldn’t have been happier with Paw Quest Petcare. They looked after our 3 cats (with behavioural issues and requiring medication) and our gecko for two weeks, and when we returned the house looked great, and our creature family seemed relaxed and happy. I loved getting pictures and updates with every visit. Adam, Brittany, and the rest of the team did an amazing job. I highly recommend them. They were amazing! I’ve attached some of the lovely photos we received. If you’re on the fence, hire them – you won’t regret it.”

I have nothing but absolute trust in Nicole
“Nicole has been pet sitting my two cats for close to 10 years. Both live in, and drop in engagements. I recommend Nicole often to friends, family and coworkers, and have nothing but absolute trust in her ability to not only care for my pets, but keep an eye on my house while I’m out of town, and let me know if anything comes up. Prices are very fair. Also love that she will often text photos the kitties. Basically, she’s great!”

“Our dog Midas absolutely adores this place. He always has a great time and comes home pooped! Best dog daycare in they city! I really appreciate the fact that they allowed unaltered puppies instead of blacklisting them well before their are due to be fixed. Midas health safety and happiness are always in mind, and has both indoor and outdoor play. The staff are amazing!”

We recommend them to everyone with a dog!
“Our little Gracie loves daycare and when she was a pup they helped us with extra walks while we were at work – even our neighbours told us how good they were with her – and we didn’t even ask! We recommend them to everyone with a dog! I also love all the photos on Instagram of her while she is there :)”

I’m so glad we were able to bring our dogs there
“A friend and I were visiting Nova Scotia from Ontario and wanted a safe place to leave our dogs while we toured Halifax. Jollytails was recommended and I’m so glad we were able to bring our dogs there. They were so well taken care of. My two got a bath and their nails clipped and my friends dog had a bath (her nails were already short). They played safely and were so happy when we showed up to take them home. All three were sound asleep minutes after getting into the car. If you’re looking for a safe, happy place for your dogs, you couldn’t find a better spot.”
