How We Reviewed
1. Refined Roofing
Website:https://refinedroofing.com/
Address: 3675 Acadia Street
Contact: (902) 510-1240
Hours: Tuesday-Sunday, 24 Hours
Refined Roofing handles urgent roof repairs with materials built for Halifax’s harsh coastal weather. The crew uses heavy-duty products designed to withstand strong winter winds and cleans up the property once the repair is finished.
We spoke with a client whose roof lost several shingles during a winter storm, and they said the team arrived quickly and secured the exposed deck before the next rain shower.
They also appreciated the lead technician’s explanation of why thorough cleanup is part of every repair.
The main drawback is the small administrative team. During peak storm seasons, phone callbacks can sometimes take a couple of hours.
Still, most clients were happy with the workmanship and how securely the repair protected their home.
Customer Reviews:

Chris and his crew were fast, professional and did a quality job. Would recommend for roof and skylight repair/replacement.
UPDATE: Had Refined back for a second job (Justin and his crew took down a chimney and patched up the roof). Again, crew was fast and work was high quality!

Steve and his crew were professional, efficient, clean, friendly, and took the time to answer all of my questions and explain in detail the steps they were doing. They even went above and beyond and cleaned and patched my gutters for me at no charge. We were really impressed with the workmanship and results. I highly recommend Refined Roofing!

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM | Saturday, 8:30 AM-1:00 PM
Chris Berry and his experienced team run Central Roofing Services Limited, a local company with more than 30 years of experience. This experience gives the company a strong understanding of the region’s winter conditions.
The team uses strict quality checks on every roof repair, helping ensure the work is done properly and can handle Halifax’s changing weather.
Their roof repairs are built with long-term durability in mind, making them a practical choice for homeowners looking for reliable protection.
However, their office is located along a busy commercial and commuter route in Clayton Park, where traffic can get heavy during peak hours. This can make face-to-face visits less convenient, especially before starting a project.

3. El Nino Roofing Ltd
Website:http://elninoroofing.ca/
Address: 8 Frederick Ave.
Contact: (902) 499-5739
Hours: Monday-Saturday, 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
El Nino Roofing Ltd. handles sudden roof leaks and major repairs with a focus on fair pricing and dependable workmanship.
The crew works with both metal roofing and classic asphalt shingles, helping protect homes from harsh coastal winds without cutting corners on quality.
We spoke with a client whose neighbour hired the team for a major roof repair, and he said their crew was organised, respectful, and easy to deal with throughout the project.
There are a couple of minor drawbacks to keep in mind, though. Parking near the Frederick Avenue office can be frustrating, as some nearby spaces are reserved for local residents.
Additionally, the company is closed on Sundays, which limits weekend availability.

They also work with IKO roofing products and offer free repair estimates across the Halifax Regional Municipality, including Hubbards, Porters Lake, and Mount Uniacke.

Very pleased with the results
My neighbour and I hired them to do our roof recently. Very pleased with the results. Jules is very responsive and put together a comprehensive quote in no time. Out of the three quotes I got, his was the most competitive. Best part is the price I was quoted was the price I got. No surprises. His staff were friendly and polite, and cleaned up the job site well. He’s been in the business 40 years and you can see why. I would hire him again.

5. NS Roofer
Website:https://www.nsroofer.com/
Address: Unit 1, 30 Rosno Lane, Bedford
Contact: (902) 448-0428
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Getting a clear roof repair quote without surprise fees can be difficult, but NS Roofer aims to keep pricing straightforward. The company provides a cost estimate within 48 hours of a repair request, so you can get a better idea of the project cost early on.
The team is GAF (General Aniline & Film)-certified and follows strict safety standards on active job sites. For inspections, they use modern drone technology to safely assess hard-to-reach areas and storm damage before preparing the final invoice.
However, the team mainly handles missing or damaged shingles and storm damage, so homeowners with other roofing issues may need to look elsewhere.
But if your roof needs fall within their services, their focused approach could be a good fit.
