From what I’ve seen, they work closely with laser surgery providers such as TLC Laser Eye Centres and Lasik MD. They offer consultations, follow-up visits, and ongoing eye assessments.
Another thing is that they offer myopia management for children and use advanced tools to track changes in eye development over time. They can even help with screen-related eye strain, which is becoming more common these days.
However, they don’t provide after-hours emergency treatment, so urgent eye injuries are referred to a hospital.
Their services are also more focused on eye health and vision care than emergency eye treatment. If those services fit your needs, they’re worth considering.

Comforting Family Eye Exam Experience
I recently took my family for eye exams. I hadn’t had my eyes tested in many years I knew I needed glasses and I had broken mine however I was nervous about my ageing eyes and what they would find. I was very pleasantly surprised at how relaxing and comforting the optometrist was and I was very pleasantly surprised to know that my eyes had not changed. My daughter and myself got excellent glasses at a wonderful price. I can’t say enough about how lovely the optometrist was. I would definitely recommend.

Professionals here are caring and attentive
I had an appointment to test my color deficiencies that was required for a job opportunity. I was stressed out thinking I would lose the opportunity because of these tests. The staff was incredibly patient and reassuring. I received top notch customer service from Dr Liu, and as well from the other person who did my preliminary tests but I didn’t catch her name. Long-term eye care, children’s vision support, and specialty lens services are some of the main reasons people choose Insight Optometry.
They’ve been serving Halifax since 1981 and continue to use modern technology, including Optomap retinal imaging and automated vision testing.
On top of that, they offer myopia management for children and Neurolens therapy for people experiencing eye strain from screen use. Plus, the parking can be a challenge downtown, so having on-site parking spaces is a nice bonus.
The downside is that contact lens fittings may require a separate follow-up visit instead of being completed during the first appointment. Also note that Saturday hours are unavailable at certain times of the year.
Still, they’re worth a look if you want a mix of experience and specialized care.

Stress-Free Glasses Selection Experience
Had a wonderful experience! Dr. Davis was friendly, relaxed and very thorough with my eye exam. Afterwards, I wanted to update my glasses to something more current but felt overwhelmed with choices. Nicholas helped by asking the right questions to narrow down my search and pulled quite a few options off the wall for me which were all excellent, and we found my pair. Nicholas took all the stress out of selecting the right glasses and made the whole experience super fun! I highly recommend!
