I would highly recommend Halifax Guitar Lessons to anyone who is looking for top notch instruction. Regardless of your skill level, age, learning style, or goals, Maurice and Sue are very skilled at quickly discovering how each student needs to be taught, and structuring the teaching accordingly (not “one size fits all” instruction). I took guitar lessons with Jason for a little over a year, and I must say it was such an incredibly positive experience. I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher. Jason is extremely patient, has a great way of explaining things, and obviously very skilled at guitar. Every lesson I had was a great time with some laughs, and I always took home something useful. Tucked into the vibrant Hydrostone neighbourhood, Merry Time Music Company is one of our favourites because of their incredibly inclusive, community-driven approach to music.
They cater to kids and adults with unique offerings, like individual sessions, interactive buddy lessons, and their adult Guitar Club.
The studio even goes above and beyond to foster local connections. They host engaging extracurricular events, summer camps, and pay-what-you-can ensembles to keep music accessible.
Unfortunately, you do need to keep physical access in mind, as the studio features a raised entrance and stair-only access to the loft. Also, a resident dog is present at the studio, which may affect students with animal allergies.
