Finding a daycare that balances play, rest, and grooming isn’t always easy. That’s one reason Happy Hounds Doggy Daycare stood out to me.
Dogs get supervised outdoor play in a fully fenced yard, giving them plenty of room to burn off energy safely. I also like that the indoor space has non-slip flooring, which helps dogs move around comfortably.
Another thing is that they offer a free one-hour trial, making it easier for nervous dogs to adjust before joining regular daycare. When it’s time to rest, dogs have their own cozy spaces with fresh water nearby.
However, daycare services are only available on weekdays. They also require dogs to meet specific vaccine and socialization rules before joining, so come prepared.

On top of that, their team is certified in pet first aid, which adds an extra layer of comfort for pet owners. Adding to the compassionate experience is the rubber indoor flooring and a fully turfed outdoor area designed for safe play.
Furthermore, dogs get scheduled nap breaks, quiet time, and plenty of attention throughout the day. They even offer valet pick-up and drop-off services for some regular clients.
However, larger breeds aren’t allowed because of the weight limit. Some boarding services are also limited to existing daycare clients.

Safe and Friendly Daycare for Small Dogs

Amazing Grooming and Caring Staff
Today was the first time that I took my Bichon Frize for grooming to Sian! My dog looks absolutely amazing and Sian did an incredible job of Grooming him! I’ve never ever had an excellent & perfect experience with a groomer, such as Sian, In the 25 years that I’ve been living in Halifax! I’ve also had my dog at their day care. The whole staff are just amazing and they truly care for the dogs. I cannot thank you enough Sian and my dog absolutely loves you♥️

Being able to check in on your dog during the day really gives you peace of mind, and that’s my favourite thing about Nooshy Halifax. You can watch live webcam feeds in the app, making it easy to check in whenever you want.
Plus, play areas are climate-controlled with modern HVAC and air filtration systems, which keep the dogs comfortable. The rubberized flooring supports dogs’ joints during play, which is great for growing pups.
I also appreciate that they group dogs by size and personality to make playtime safer.
One downside is that their daily rates are higher than many other local options. Dogs also need to pass a behaviour assessment and meet some eligibility requirements.
On the bright side, their longer weekday hours are also helpful if you have a busy schedule.

Professional Daycare, Grooming, and Overnight Care
Our dog goes here for daycare, grooming and the occasional overnight and he loves it. The owners and staff are amazing and the whole operation is just really professional. Being able to check in on how the dog is doing on webcam is a really nice feature too. Location is great and the spaces are clean and tidy. Mainly the dogs just have a great time which is the point.

Accommodating Care During a Stressful Visit
We travelled down from Sydney for an unexpected visit to the VG for tests with future surgery in the plans. Of course we brought our dog and had heard of Dogtopia. They have been nothing but wonderful, accommodating, and very caring/loving of our pet! I felt relieved that she was being looked after and cared for as we would. She came home to our hotel every night happy and exhausted – just how a dog should be! For starters, this place is run by experienced professionals who really understand dog behaviour. If you want trusted dog trainers in Halifax, that’s a big advantage.
Grooming, training, and pet supplies are all available here, too. It’s also great that they separate play areas for large and small dogs, which makes things safer. Dogs can use a large outdoor turf yard to play and take bathroom breaks as they need.
However, every dog has to pass a behaviour assessment before joining. They also require yearly Bordetella vaccinations, which may not work for every owner.

Fun Daycare with Helpful Daily Updates
Jollytails is a great daycare with a store that sells Acana dog food at perhaps the lowest price around. The daycare gives a fun summary of your dog at daycare. The photos are a great highlight of the day. The daycare also pays attention to the fact that my dog would run and play non-stop so he does get some downtime in a crate. I often send a towel or blanket as well as a bit of food for the crate. My dog appreciates the kiddie pools in the summertime.

Some dogs need more than just a small play area, and that’s what makes Jollytails Resort stand out. I appreciate that the facility gives dogs lots of space to run, play, and relax all day.
I’ve noticed that the outdoor area has splash pools, shaded spots, and tough turf that stays in good shape even when dogs play hard.
Besides that, pet owners receive daily email report cards, making it easy to keep up with their dog’s activities.
The resort offers overnight boarding with staff there 24/7, which helps owners feel at ease. They also provide dog grooming and have a pet retail section.
Spots fill up fast, so it’s a good idea to book in advance. Dogs also need to be vaccinated before they can come in.

Friendly Staff and Fun Daycare Extras
This establishment goes above and beyond any pet owners expectations of a daycare. Whether it be Santa pictures or celebrating your pup “graduating” from the little dogs to the big dogs pen, they are truly incredible. Easy to book, can often book the night before when in a pinch. The staff are incredibly friendly and passionate about their jobs, after only a couple visits they memorized my dog’s name and were clearly happy to see him, as he was to see them as well. Highly recommended!
