Back when I was younger, I considered myself somewhat of an athlete. Soccer was my sport of choice, and I was genuinely good at it.
Admittedly, I haven’t played in a long while, but when I was invited to a game recently, I just assumed that I’d easily get back into the swing of things. Well, as you can probably guess, the match didn’t go so well, and I ended up with a sprained ankle.
My doctor told me that it was a nasty one and warned me to expect a year-long recovery, give or take. He said getting massages could potentially speed up the process, so I considered that for a while.
However, several of my friends wouldn’t stop recommending osteopathic services, with claims that it was the only thing that really helped them get back to being 100%. So I looked for the best osteopaths in Halifax with impressive track records.
How much do osteopathic services cost in Halifax?
In Halifax, osteopathic services cost around $80 to $150 per session. Initial appointments are usually more expensive than follow-ups due to examinations.
The final rate will depend on the duration of the appointment and the experience of your chosen practitioner.
How We Chose the Best Osteopaths in Halifax
1. Halifax Osteopathic Health Centre

Address: 6247 Jubilee Rd
Phone: +1 902 423 1085
Business Hours:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday – 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
- Wednesday – 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Friday – 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Saturday to Sunday – Closed
Halifax Osteopathic Health Centre has been a top choice among locals since 2003. Their treatments are known for combining osteopathy with other interventions, ranging from physiotherapy to pilates.
The goal is to look at and heal your body as a whole, instead of hyperfocusing on certain parts that ache. Not only is this more effective for your overall well-being, but it’s also easier to notice improvements as soon as after 3 sessions.
Practitioners here primarily use 4 techniques: soft-tissue manipulation, cranial osteopathy, visceral manipulation, and osteopathic articular technique. Finding the right blend allows them to provide tailored services that’ll address your issues.
And speaking of bespoke care, we want to point out that their clinic is very accessible. It really shows that they’ve put a lot of thought into accommodating those with mobility problems.
However, there have been a few complaints saying that their staff isn’t always the most respectful or professional.
Helped me with improving neck mobility, decreasing pain, and improving sleep
“Julie Sainsbury was recommended to me for pain in my neck, shoulders, and back after a motor vehicle accident. She is a very skilled osteopath and also a genuinely caring person. Julie has helped me with improving my neck mobility, decreasing my pain, and improving my sleep. I feel fortunate to have found Julie after receiving unsuccessful treatments with physiotherapy, massage therapy and acupuncture at various other clinics. I have recommended family and friends to see her. Anyone who has pain would benefit from an osteopathy treatment with Julie.”

2. Brickyard Health

Address: 2111 Maitland St #100
Phone: +1 902 406 2006
Business Hours:
- Monday to Thursday – 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
- Friday – 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Saturday – 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Sunday – Closed
Although Brickyard Health provides inclusive care to all, their services are especially recommended for women, from expecting moms to retired professionals.
Their team is well-versed in how pain affects the female body and the different areas of your life, making them very empathetic. It especially shines in how they carry out their osteopathic techniques, which are mainly manual therapy and rehabilitative exercises.
Parents would be happy to know that they’re also a great choice for paediatric osteopathy. There have been plenty of testimonials talking about how their practitioners helped babies with sleep disturbances, latching difficulties, and digestion.
We believe that their comprehensive assessments are what make them effective. They look at so many factors for their treatment plans, including genetics and lifestyle, and continuously test as you go to further fine-tune their methods.
Just a warning, though: the front desk has a track record of getting appointments mixed up.
It’s so great to have a practice with so many services under one roof
“I have had great experiences with every practionner I have worked with. Its so great to have a practice with so many services under one roof (and booking system!). Front desk staff are always helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Direct billing option is super useful.”

They have all been super kind and helped me down the path to wellness
“I absolutely love this practice and business in general. I’ve seen many of the people who work there, and they have all been super kind and helped me down the path to wellness. I’ve been seeing Dr. D’Arcy Stonehouse for a few years now, and I don’t think I would ever go to anyone else! Marie is also an amazing RMT. Can’t recommend Brickyard enough!”

3. One to One Wellness Centre

Address: 1535 Dresden Row, Suite 210
Phone: +1 902 425 3775
Business Hours:
- Monday to Friday – 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Saturday to Sunday – Closed
One to One Wellness has been a go-to for those suffering from chronic pain, injuries, and complex health conditions.
If you’ve never been here, one reason why we recommend them is for their free initial screening. This includes an in-depth assessment that’ll help them pinpoint the cause of your symptoms and determine which services are best for you.
When it comes to osteopathy, they achieve the best results through gentle manual therapy and manipulation. There’s really no telling how long your appointments will be until your visit, since their approach is personalized to each client.
It’s also nice that they provide tips and exercises to do at home to speed up the process. Apparently, this is so beneficial that a lot of patients end up needing pain medications less and less.
Unfortunately, this clinic needs to improve its communication a bit. Some people have a hard time reaching them or following up for results.
My experience with One to One Wellness Centre has always been positive
“My experience with One to One Wellness Centre has always been positive. The staff at the reception desk, the massage therapist, the osteopath, and all the physiotherapists are caring, polite, and treatments they provide have always helped me to move better and to feel better. Tyler Dillman who is my regular physiotherapist helps to relieve pain so that I am not having to take pain medication continuously.”

4. Watershed Wellness

Address: 5515 Young St
Phone: +1 902 484 4747
Business Hours:
- Monday to Thursday – 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Friday – 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Saturday to Sunday – Closed
The osteopathic practitioners over at Watershed Wellness all have at least 2 decades of experience. Their treatments mainly involve mechanical, cranial, visceral, and endocranial techniques.
Something we really like about them is that they stress that osteopathy alone can’t treat every condition, especially advanced chronic diseases. However, it can definitely relieve a lot of symptoms and painful side effects.
You can expect them to tell you more during your appointments. They try to be as informative as possible, so you can be comfortable and equipped with the tools to navigate your situation.
As a result, patients notice a difference — not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally. They know what to expect and become much more encouraged when they recognize symptoms of progress.
We just wish that the clinic had a better waiting room. It’s somewhat stuffy and not the most relaxing environment to stay in while waiting for a session.
Our experience has been top-notch
“My son (13) and I are very thankful for the treatments provided at Watershed Wellness. We’ve received care from several practitioners in osteopathy, massage, and acupuncture (Ti). All the practitioners at Watershed work as a team, and our experience has been top-notch. Without hesitation, 5 STAR!”

They have made a huge difference in my recovery
“I can’t say enough good about Watershed Wellness and google won’t let me leave a rating higher than five stars even though they deserve a lot more. The staff here are amazing, they know their stuff and the work they do changes lives. I am so happy I found this clinic because they have made a huge difference in my recovery.”

5. Choice Health Centre

Address: 46 McQuade Lake Crescent
Phone: +1 902 404 3668
Business Hours:
- Monday to Friday – 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Saturday – 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Sunday – Closed
More than 20,000 patients have found a solution for their issues at Choice Health Centre. Being a pain management clinic, the demand for their services was so high that they had to expand to 4 locations across the region.
One of their most popular offerings is osteopathy, which has healed a wide range of conditions. Through hands-on manual therapy, clients stopped suffering from migraines, jaw issues, digestive troubles, insomnia, and even fertility difficulties.
You can really depend on them to provide personalized care. Before jumping into a treatment plan, they conduct plenty of assessments and thoroughly review your history to find what they need to address.
But as for the actual sessions, we love that they prioritize being gentle above all. They’ll still be thorough and make you do as many exercises as you can, but they’ll constantly check on your comfort levels.
Sadly, there have been disappointing instances when they cancelled appointments on short notice.
A few more treatments and I will be as good as new!
“I have been going to this clinic for a couple of months now and I have to say, they really work as a team. Charlie keeps me schedules and on track. Korena (osteopath) works magic, is very gentle with Great impact before and after my hip replacement surgery. Ryan (chiro), he did a thorough assessment and was able to pin point the pain in my back, after just one treatment, FEELS SOOO GOOD! A few more treatments and I will be as good as new!!”
